Raoul Wallenberg
He saved tens of thousands with paper he invented — then vanished into Soviet custody.
A Swedish diplomat in Budapest, Wallenberg issued thousands of protective "Schutzpässe" to save Hungarian Jews, then disappeared after Soviet forces took the city.
